Highlighting the classes of 1939 and 1964, feUow alumni paid rribute to retired teachers, including Rose Egan and Marion Moran. Francis Tubbs. member of the first graduating class of Lima High School in 1919, re- ceived recognition on his 70th anniversary year. Frank Knop (cla.u of 1939) and his daughter, Susan (class of 1964), posed for a for- mal photograph marking their golden and silver anniversary years. Co-chairpersons and hosts for the diMer and program were Beverly Caccamise Boyce, Honeoye Falls, and Liz Kane Pooley, Knoxville, Tennessee. Mendon Board Postpones Sycamore Run Decision by Rachel Edwards A decision to grant pre- liminary approval 10 the Syca- more Run subdivision was post- poned by the Mendon Planning Board, awaiting the declaration of environmental signifICanCe from the Mendon Conservation Board. The proposed 29-housc development on Oover Street, bctwccn ())CC9C ~ and Staly Lonesome Roads. is a project of L&L Developers of Greater Rochesl.er. Engineering concems under discussion include the mitigatioo of surface and gr0und- water runoff inro a designated wetland 10 the north, sile dis- rance for the development's ac- cess road onro Clover Sb'Cet, and setback of the hoU5CS and septic systems from conservation ease- ment areas. No public comment was offered during the pubUe hearing on the subdivision. A 3O-Iot subdivision at the comer 0( Boughron HiJJ and Quakrr Meaing Houge Roads was discussed by the Planning Board with Mr. Szwranskyj, repreaent- ing Advent Properties. AJthough concept approval had been pre- viously given to the project. the P1aruUng Board discUS!ed pr0- posed change.1 in the grade, the location of a cul-de-sac, and the proximity of houses and septic systems 10 sloping areas. Claire intended 10 devote aU her time and effort as the wife or Charlie Tubbs. Claire was then asked 10 consider a temporary position finishing the 1950 school year. Acalrding 10 Claire. she was more than happy to fill in for Rose Egan, who was on a pregnancy leave at the time. When Rose returned 10 work, principal Wil- liam H. Maloy asked Claire to go up on the hill and straighten out the 6th grade.
