'Sooner or later they will ; find themselves before Judge Inger- son. While the motorists %re the princi pal offenders on the' road,- there are plenty of drivers' of 'horse drawn vehicles \that do not •carry'out \either; the letter\or the .spirit .of obedience to the laws, principally that of carrying lights at' night on al l vehicles. The New .York State Motor Federa tion has begun: a- campaign _fo r .en forcement of this .'law In the interests of public safety. . ^Heretofore users of the highway, especially horso-drawn vehicles, have seldom taken the trou ble io'leafn why,this law was made by the State Legislature, and but few of them carry tie'necessary lights. In Tjrtlca the Automobile Club is taking an-active 'Ste p towards the en forcement of this law. The secretary of the Federation an officer of the Utlca club has been appointed a spe cial policeman and I s compelling Ml vehicles to carry lights w;hlle I n the city Btreets at night Frequent In spections are made In the club car and violators ate requested to light up. It I s expected that after a week or two all vehicles on-the street with out lights at night will be driven to the police station, while- the owners and drivers will be arrosted.
