An overflow crowd was In attendance and' a space«near the right, fleldl foul, .Hrie ..fence had .been railed\off'for the BmaH\B6ys were admitted at 10 cents each. About the end of the sixth inning a kid discov ered that he had lost a dollar and con cluded he had lost it while chasing flies during batting practice in right field. While the team was changing-sides a swarm of kids ran over into the right field and began looking for the lost dollar. When the first batter stepped to the plate Umpire Setley noticed the kids and called time while he had the park policeman chase the boys back into the enclosure. The same thing happened at the end of the next inning. After the boys again bad been chased back. Seller*, who waB umpiring from behind the pitcher, turned and looked Intently Into right field, then trotted out into the field, and before the hundred or more boys looking on reached down and picked up a dollar he had palmed, remarking, \ I had been wondering for Borne time what that waB shining out there,\ trotted back to .his .place and the game was resumed. His ruse, however, had the desired effect, as every kid waB sure the um pire had \found\ the dollar and not an urchin crossed the chalk line dur ing the rest of the game.
