It is reported that the beer that is being sold throughout nor- thern and central New York is made in central New York cities. ft is brought into this section and can be retailed at 25 cents a pint runners are stiH plying their busi- ness but most of them are shrewd smugglers who are veterans in the rum running rocket and sel- dom get caught These men are supplying large clubs and private organizations in large cities where tne -membership is willing to pay for the various brands of Canadian liquor. The men supplying these clubs, how- ever, do not make frequent trips. They bring over large loads at a time and in that way are less fa- miliar to the federal forces than the small rum runners who had to make more frequent trips in the nan and could be easily spot- ted.
