To be perfectly frank, it seems to me that by the adoption of plank No. i* the New York State Economic Council has done more to weaken its influence as a dis- interested body of fair-minded men seekinsr to cut the costs of govern- ment, than it could have done in any other way. The adoption of such a plank will not prevent the development of the St. Lawrence Seaway Pro- ject, but may be fatal to the de- velopment of the NVw York State Economic Council in the iNorthern and Central parts of -this State. 1 am giving copies of this letter to the press in order that public opinion of Northern and Centra erell family lived in the preseiu summer home of Mrs. Henry W. Lawrence on AYashington street. 31 r. Clark was the former owner of the Ogdensburg public library building and grounds extending through to the St. Lawrence. He purchased the property from the Rosseel estate and reconstructed the house which was on the site of the present library. Mr. and Mrs.' and their family spent the summers there Cor a number of years. -Mr. Clark later gave the pro- perty to the city for use as a public library and park. At that time Riv- erside park was established. The Clark family did not return here after that. They have beeu prom- inent for many years in business and social circles in New York. With the exception of S. G. Av-j erell. Mr>. Clark was the last mem-' ber of the J. G. Averell family. She i is survived 4)y several children liv- j ing in New York. j The funeral was held yesterday j at 10 a. m. at Grace church. Broad- way and 10th street. New York I city.
