One of the liveliest runaways which •has occurred in this city for sofe time took place yesterday forenoon, when a team owned by H. A. Riley of Morrisonville started from the Davis ffrist mill on the Battery and ran up Battery hill and through Mar- garet and Bridge streets to River street, where one of the horses struck a large tree in front of the residence of W. S. Winters and was fatally injured. On Margaret street, the team took to the sidewalk and several persons narrowly escaped being run down. At Bridge-street they crossed from Cady's corner to F. H.
