Dumas 5 Celebrate Birth 50th Anniversary Thebert December 4,1986-Fort Covington Sun-Fort Covington, N.Y.-Page 3 Mr. and Mrs. Alfred (Bud) Dumas, Fort Covington, cele- brated their 50th Anniversary at a Mass November 28, 1986 officiated by Father Rolland Hart and Msgr. Edmund Dumas, Tupper Lake. Read- ings were given by Carol, Loretta, Alice and Rita and Robert and Gloria brought forth the gifts. Also a family dinner was given by their children and held at Martin's Restaurant, Constable. Mr. and Mrs. Dumas were married Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 1936 in Leeds, Mass. Their attendants (Mrs. Hilda Dumas Magee and Norman Cheverette) were unable to attend. They have 10 grandchildren and one grand-grandchild. Those attending were: Msgr. Edmund Dumas, Fa- ther Rolland Hart, Mrs. Mau- rice (Loretta) Raymo, Alicia and Rand, Carleton, Michigan; Mr. and Mrs. Howard (Alice) Jock, Jr., Carissa and Shannon, Ft. Cov.; Mrs. Rita Cutri, Syracuse; Mr. and Mrs. Rob- ert Dumas, Ottawa Lake, Michigan; Mr. and Mrs. Rob- ert (Carol) Benware, Pough- keepsie and Mr. Vern Snyder, Pine Plains, N.Y.; Mrs. Eli- zabeth Benware, Malone, N.Y. and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Raymo, Norfolk, N.Y. They received a congrat- ulatory card from President Ronald Reagan and Nancy Reagan. They also received money and many lovely gifts, and everyone enjoyed a two tier cake made by Bruno and Janice Poirier, North Bangor. Jenifer Potter of Bombay and Peter Lauzon of Fort Coving- ton have been named to the SUNY Pittsburgh chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership honor society. Omicron Delta Kappa was founded to recognize leadership qualities, academic excellence and outstanding ser- vice among college students. SUNY Pittsburgh is only three colleges in New York State to have a chapter. A junior nursing major at SUNY Pittsburgh, Potter is Senior Citizens Notes Christmas Party By Carleen Burditt The Fort Covington Senior Citizens Club will be holding its annual Christmas Party this year on Dec. 18th at the Adult Center in Fort Covington starting at noon. A $3.00 gift exchange by those who attend is asked. Ladies are to bring a gift labelled \Lady\; men are to bring for a man labelled \man.\ Santa will be sending elves this year to help out since he is so busy, however, we can assure you that you will have a good time. By Clayton White During the months of Oc- tober and November, the Westville Volunteer Fire De- partment responded to the following alarms: 9 rescues; 6 mutual aid requests; 3 car accidents; and 2 house fire alarms. Community residents are urged to exercise care in heating season now upon us, and with winter driving. Westville firemen wish all a happy and safe holiday season. Helms Aiman Robert J. Helms, son of Robert W. Helms, of Rural Route 1, North Bangor, N.Y., has graduated from the U.S. Air Force Morse Systems operator course at Keesler Air Force Base, Miss. Graduates of the 21-week course studied international morse code, the operation of electronic communications monitoring systems, and earned credits toward an associate degree in applied science through the Commu- nity College of the Air Force. H.V.F.D. During the month of November, the Hogansburg Volunteer Fire Department responded to 9 calls, these included 2 structural fires, 1 shed fire, 1 stove fire, 2 car fires, and 3 car accidents. December 1st is the departments new reporting year. As of Nov. 30th, it responded to total of 148 calls for 1986. In 1847, the first American postage stamp was issued. J. Potter and P. Lauzon Named to Honor Society also a member ot the college Chorale and holds a College- Foundation Scholarship. A 1984 graduate of Salmon River Central School, she is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Potter of Bombay. A junior secondary educati- on/biology major, Lauzon is also a member of Phi Eta Sigma, the national honor society for freshmen. Also a 1984 graduate of Salmon River Central School, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rodrigue Lau- zon of Fort Covington.
