For this region of New York State the Dairy of Distinction Program is chaired by Errol & Joanne McElwain of Fort Covington. Dairy farmers themselves, the McElwains say they support this program because they feel attractive dairies give the consumer greater confidence in the wholesomeness of milk. In turn, the increase in consumer confidence will help stimulate milk sales and encourage public support for the dairy industry. The judges for this year's dairy of distinction program were Mr. Bernie Chambers, Mrs. Betty Mount, and Mr. Errol McElwain. These judges wish to thank all those dairy farm families who participated in the 1986 program and encourage more dairy farmers to consider applying for this award. Any dairy farm pro- ducing milk for sale in Frank- lin Count v is invited to make an application to participate in tKe 1987 program. Appli- cations will be available early next year through the Agri- cultural Extension Program, 11 Brewster Street* Malone.
