Brockway, 73, of Fort Covington, died Friday, May 2, 1986, in Alice Hyde Hospital. Born Jan 27, 1913 in Bom- bay, she was the only child of Albert and Ada Thurgood. She attended Fort Coving- ton and Bombay schools and Watertown School of Commerce. On Aug. 29, 1946, she was married to Ivan H. Hollen- beck, who predeceased her July 22, 1967. On Oct. 10, 1970, she was married to Wayne J. Brock- way. He predeceased her Dec. 15, 1982. Surviving are a step-son, Ivan L. Hollenbeck of Fort Jackson; two step- grandchildren, Jack and Jane Hollenbeck, and two great- grandchildren. She was a member of Bom- bay United Methodist Church and played the organ for 25 years in Fort Covington Methodist Church. She was a 50-year member of Covington Chapter 392, Order of the Eastern Star, and Seaway 1 Valley Women's Club, where she was honored as Woman of the Year in 1979. She was a member of Franklin County Association of Senior Citizens. She was in repose at the Cosgrove Funeral Home until funeral services in the chapel on May 5, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Alex- ander officiating. Burial will be at the Hillside Rest Ceme- tery in Bombay. Pall bearers were Elton Cappiello, Harold Snyder, Roger Clary, Edward Ther- rien, Matthew Gaffney and Robert Wilson. Donations in her memory can be made to the Fort Covington Adult Center or the Fort Rescue Squad. Graduation Party to be Planned Traditions begin some- where. We can give the Class of C 86 the biggest and best party ever to keep in their memories until they meet a their tenth year class reunion. We have the cooperation of the school, Franklin County Stop DWI and the Franklin County Substance House Ser- vices. Now we need the help of the students, the parents (not just the parents of the Class of *86) and any community members for ideas which will make this type of party a tradi- tion tor years to come. There will be a meeting on Tuesday, May 13tfi at 7:00 in the Middle School cafeteria of all those who have an interest in getting this celebration started. Delosh was served a third degree burglary war- rant as he was being released from an 11 month term in St. Lawrence County jail for an unre- lated crime. Delosh remains in cus- tody in lieu of $1,500.00 bail House Damaged by Fire The home in which Cathy Collet te and her two children, Justinee and Lloyd on the Cn\d Snrincrs RnaH in RomHdv was seriously damaged in an electrical fire on Sunday eve- ning at about 7 p.m. Responding to the fire, Bombay Fire Chief Nate Collette, sister of Cathy Collette, found the second story of the rented farm house belonging to Robert Durant fully inflamed. The Fire Marshall stated that the fire started in a hot water heater which was locat- ed under the stairway leading to the top floor of the house. Cathy Collette stated that most of the loss the family sustained were personal items belonging to the children. The family was not at home when the fire broke out. Theresa Butcher Enters Guilty Plea Theresa Anne Butcher en- tered a plea of guilty to first degree manslaughter before Judge Jan H. Plumadore in Franklin County Court on Friday, May 2, 1986. Mrs. Butcher had been charged with second degree murder after Clayton E. Butcher died of a gunshot wound to the head; Clayton Butcher was found in tne bedroom of the home the couple shared with their two children. Theresa Anne Tupia and Clayton Butcher were married in Fort Covington in 1969. Clayton Butcher was a fourth grade teacher at Salmon River Central School. Sentencing is scheduled fo< June 23rd.
