The twelve housing unit complex will be located near the Fort Covington Town Gar- age. The bid letting for the pro- ject will be done in the near future, construction is expected to begin in the Spring with anticipated completion in the Fall of '86. Teacher Suspended William Plante, physical edu- cation teacher and hockey coach at Salmon River Central School has been suspended from his teaching and coaching duties for an undetermined length of time in order for school officials to investigate an incident which allegedly occurred at the school on December 19th and which involved a student, although school officials will not confirm the later. David White has assumed Planters hockey coaching duties during the suspension period. County Legislator Charles O. Smith is slated to be Chairman of the Board of Legislators, the position he held during 1982 and 1983. Smith of Bombay, represents Legislative District No. 1. When the 4 Democrat, 3 Republican board meets on Wednesday, January 8, Smith is the man who seems to be Former Farmer's Bank President Takes New Position Donald E. Stone, former president of the Farmer's National Bank of Malone, and currently serving as executive vice president of Key Corp, Inc. will assume the post of presi- dent and chief operating officer of the National Bank and Trust Company of Norwich, New York on February 1,1986. The newly created post of president and chief operating officer will give Mr. Stone the responsibility for the daily operating of the 18-office, $400 million bank. Mr. Stone's activities have included past presidency of the Adirondack Banker's Associa- tion, Malone Chamber of Commerce, North Franklin County Industrial Develop- ment Corporation, Malone Development Corporation and Malone Rotary Club, general chairman for five years of the Malone Winter Carnival, and past Exalted Ruler of the Malone Lodge of Elks. He also served two terms as chairman of the Town of Malone Planning Commission. He is a retired reserve colonel with the U.S. Army National Guard. Currently he is serving as chairman of Governor Cuo mo's Task Force for New Busi ness Development Corpora tion, past chairman of New York Business Development Corporation, past regional director for the Second National Banking District, and past regional director for the small business administration.
