School will hold a photo- graphy 1 workshop in the high school art room Saturday, Nov. 16, from 1 to 4 p.m., and Nov. 21, Dec. 5 and Dec. 19 from 7 to 10 p.m. Topics to be covered include: The photographer's Photography vocabulary, film selection and use, basic camera handling, F- Stops and shutter speeds, depth of field, precise exposure control, accessories and basic composiiton. Students should have fully available 35mm camera and bring to the first class meeting; camera, camera manual, note- book, pen, and one 20 expo- sure roll of ektachrome Tungsten film ASA/160. Each participant will produce a basket which will be about 8-10 inches in diameter and 4 inches deep. Also to be discussed is how to use leftover vines for wreaths. Materials needed — flexible grapevines six by 10 foot pieces or the equivalent, pruning shears or wire cutters to cut vine, wear old clothes. The class will be held Nov. 6 from 7-9:30 p.m. Class fee is $5 and $3.50 (optional) to the instruc- tor if the instructor provides the grapevines. Maximum class size is 12 persons. Holiday Crafting The Salmon River Central School Adult Continuing, Edu- cation (ACE) Program will be offering a holiday crafting class with herbs and spices, from 7- 9:30 p.m. Nov. 7. Seaway Valley Womens Club On Monday evening, October 21st, the Seaway Valley Women's Club met at the home of Olga Fleury. The meeting was called to order by the president, Ruth Brill, who also gave the secretary's report in the absence of Katherine Sullivan. A report on the food sale was given. The members expressed their appreciation to all who supported it and made the sale a success. The proceeds will be used toward the Scholarship Fund. The annual Memory Tree will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Brill on Saturday, November 23, at 1:30. Following the meeting deli- cious refreshments were served by Mrs. Fleury and Mrs. Leroux. One guest was present. The next meeting will be held at the home of Pauline Brock- way on Monday evening, November 18th with Gloria Campbells as co-hostess. Drug Abuse Adult Continuing Education Program will offer a workshop on Drug Abuse and detection of Abusers. This workshop will be given by a New York State Trooper Garcia Nov. 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. The course will be free and is open to all area residents.
