At the Salmon River Central School Board meeting, Mon day May 6, 1985, those board members present unanimously (7,0) adopted the proposed 1985-86 budgets for the St. Regis Mohawk Elementary and the Salmon River Central Schools. Since the former is given attributable aid through state ~ funding, only the SRC budget is subject to voter approval. \No Tax Rate Increase\ The Salmon River Central budget, totaling $8,989,293.70, shows an increase of 4% over last year. However, Chief School Officer, Robert Lewis, indicated that while final tax rates cannot be set until all equalization rates and assess ments are reported, it appears there will be little, if any, tax rate increase, due to other posi tive factors and conditions. A more detailed report on the budget will be forthcoming in THE SUN prior to the Public Hearing, scheduled for May 20, 1985 at 7:30 pm in the SRCS Board of Education Room. On Wednesday, June 12, 1985, from noon until 8:00 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room, quali fied residents will vote on the proposed budget, other propo- sitions, and tor two seats on the Board of Education.
