A' contest for the trusteeship In the Rock y Point school district on Tuesda y resulted in the re-election o f Henry A. S. Tuthill. He was op- posed by Chas. Hae s loop. The vote ¦was 39 to 25; The voters ap proved by a 28 to 34 rote the selection ol the Tuthill property C4 acres at ?2 , O O0 per acre) as the s ite for the new $60 , 000 Du ll d ln g . The work o f laying gas mains in Port Jefferson Is progressing rapidly. All t his week a crew of men has been busy with modern digging e quipment. It la believed that all of the mains w ill be Installed in Port Jef- ferson within six weeks and that service w ill begin about October 1.
