...ATHENA HALL... PORT JEFFERSON Thursday, Oct. 26 THE Hill-Donaldson Stock Co. WILL PRESENT The Game Moving Pictures and other specialties between the acts. Roller Skating after show next Friday Night Moving Pictures Monday, Tuesday, W ednesday Friday and Saturday Nights A Visit to Detroit. Tlins. U. Fanning of 1 ' ort JelTerson , of (he firm of Farming ' s f . inm g c, local distributors for the Studebaker Corpor- ation , returned last week from Detroit , Michigan , where he has been the guest of general manager Walter K. Flanders of the Studebaker Corporation K. M. F. factories. \I was not the onl y guest of Mr. Flanders , \ says Mr. Fanning; \in fact 1 was one of the party of dealers from this section who we re personall y invited to go to Detroit and inspect the facil- ities the company have for turning out Flanders \lit)'* and K. M. F. \ oO\ cars. 1 confess that until my visit to De- troit J was just a little skeptica l of the ability of any company to build o u . OOO automobiles in twelve months. I had expressed that skepticism in a letter to Mr. Flanders personall y and his re- sponse was \ come and see. \ And he provided a special train uf such sump- tuous appointments as arc not sur- passed b y those on whicUrailway mag- nates travel on their inspection tours. There was every comfort that heart could desire and the stomach was not overlooked. We had a royalgood time at Detroit. We spent one day in the big plant Xo. 1 where IC. M. F. \ISO' cars are made; and then we spent an- other day in a still larger one , p lant Xo. .1 , where Flanders \ 20\ ca r is made from the pig iron to the complete , full y equipped car. After walking for hours at a time through lanes of machinery and seeing hundreds of million dollars ' worth of stock in progress of manufacture , I am thoroug hl y convinced that we will be more nearl y able to meet the demand for Flanders \ 20\ and K M. F. \;' .0\ cars next yea r than we have ever been before. Of course that is not say ing we will get enough. Mr. Fanning was enthusiastic in his description of Detroit , which is the world' s greatest automobile center as well as one of the mos t, beautiful cities in America. \We devoted several hours t o;drivingabout the several parks and boulevards of Detroit , to say noth- ing of the trip there and back on a luxurious special train. I felt more like a millionaire who had been on a p leasant vacation than one who had been on a business trip. \ Robin ' s Palatial Home Sold.
