Tins has been the most disastrous season for the menhaden industry it has ever experienced. Though very fat the fish have been scarce and no large bodies have been found for any length of time , except \ alway s dow n South , \ an d in Long Island Sound , when- , their purse nets have been seriously impea- ed by the enforcement of the Game law provision which was put in hy a clerk' s blunder.
