He has not been com pelled nt any . time diffidently to a pproach a surly landlord. And the tax officials usually have been lenient with him. Reams have been wr itten about the advanta ges of owing one ' s home. Not h- ing has been more convincing than this last two year ' s ex perience of those who are com pelled to rent. For those who are financi ally able to build no better opportunity than the present has offered in years ' Material prices are at rock bottom. Mechanics are idle and read y to do more work for a do llar than they have done in a decade. You ' can get more house ' for your money today than at any time s ince before the -world war. It Is a homebullders ' harvest. Another lesson has been the economy o f construction types. In » times • like t his repairs are less ' welcome t han ever. W hen you build Insist ' u p on , a permanent type of construction. . De- mand exterior wa lls that will resist the e ffects of weatheri ng, that do not decay or crack or warp, or need re- furbishing every other year. : -W ith so many object lessons always at hand the wonder Is that more brick homes are not built , considering the ver y little differe nce in the cost o f them-and the less substantial types o f today.
