Hart of Rochester Saturday, May 2nd, at 4 p. m. at the Meth odist church, of Phelps. The Rev. L. B. Whitney performed the cer emony. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hart, son and daughter-in-law of the bridegroom, were their attend ants. The bride wore a grey suit with navy blue accessories and a white carnation corsage. Mrs. Hart wore an aqua suit with white accessories and a pink car nation corsage. A reception was theld at the home of Mrs. Glen Hobart, of Phelps. In the Elementary Section, Pro fessor Vincent Glennon, Syracuse University, spoke on the subject ‘What Does Research S&y About the Teaching of Arithmetic”. Pro fessor Ben Sueltz, State Teach ers’ College, Cortland, used as his subject “The Three D ’s — Dis covery, Devices and Drill” . The teachers of Phelps Central School who attended are members of this organization which, has a fourfold purpose, namely, to in sure better coordination of all ac tivities of mathematics teachers and of mathematics groups in the state; to afford a medium of ex change of views regarding the teaching of mathematics; to fur ther the cooperative study of problems relating to the teaching of mathematics at all four levels, elementary, Junior High, Senior High and College; to encourage active interest in mathematics and mathematics education. No. 2 Phelps 53J Clifton Springs 248 Charles Barnhart Died In Geneva Hospital Sunday Charles Lamont Barnhart, 51, Oaks Corners, died Sunday in Gerfeva General Hospital. Mr. Barnhart was born Dec 22, 1901, in Italy, Yates county, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Barnhart. He was an engineer for the Geneva Ice Company, and was a member of the Woodmen of the world. Survivors are his widow: Mrs. Ruth Gullick Barnhart; a daugh ter- Mrs. Mary Witter; three grand-daughter*: Michaele, Mar cia, and Lynn Witter, Oaks Corners; a brother • William, Can andaigua; two sisters: Mrs. Mary Gardner, Naples; and Mrs. Clara Dennison, Caledonia; two half- sisters: Mrs. Alice Lund, Canan daigua; and Mrs. Cora Tappert, Fairport; and two half brothers Albert Walker, Canandaigua; and Frederick Walker, Naples. The funeral was conducted Wednesday at 2 p. m. in the Kennedy Funeral Home, Canan daigua. The Rev. Lloyd Moffett, Canandaigua Methodist church officiated with burial In Rose Ridge Cemetery, Naples. Police Report For April Police Officer Murphy has rendered the following report for the month of April 1953: Total arrests 12. 2 arrests for passing fraudu lent ahecks, charges being with drawn when restitution is made. 2 arrests for disorderly con duct; a fine of' $15.00 and a jail term of three(3) months in the Ontario County Jail was imposed in each case; sentence waa sus pended and defendants placed on two ( 2 ) year’s probation. 7 arrests for speeding with a total fine of $80.00. 1 arrest for violation of Ve hicle and Traffic law for pass ing on the right; find $15.00. There was one parking vio lation reported and a fine of $ 1.00 was imposed, raising the total of fines for the month of April to $06.00. . . .
