Holbrook returned Tuesday from a visit with her son, Dr. Holbrook, at Weedsport. Mrs. B F. Prichard is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Carhart, in New York. An appeal from the decision of Justice Comford, rendered last August, in the case of Earl White against George Aroher, will be ar gued before Judge Knapp next Monday. The Justice, it will be remembered, gave Mr. White a verdict for $13. The case was the outcome of a collision in which Mr. White's bicycle was injured. Bowlers' Annual Banquet At Hotel The bowling league annual banquet was held at the Phelps Hotel Wednesday evening. April 29th. Members of the Rotary Bowl ing team are: Fred Grimsley, Vincent Hall, Jack Keefe, Buster Combs, George-Tate, Floyd Nash, Clarence Balcom. Charles D. McDuffie of Cato, father of Mrs Leon G. Bridger, Of Phelps, who formerly resided at Oaks Comers and had many acquaintances in Phelps, died at his home on Monday after a brief illness from pneumonia, aged 65 years. A fire broke out in an upper room of the residence of E. J. Champion on Church Street about nine o’clock Sunday morning, and damaged the room and its con tents to the extent of about $125. It is thought to have originated Savings Bonds May Be Exchanged to May 1 Joseph J. Doyle, .volunteer chairman of the Seneca County U. S. Savings Bonds Committee has announced that all holders of F & G Treasury bonds wihich will mature between May 1 and December, 1953, may exchange their bonds for the new Treasury 3% per cent bonds if they de sire. The offer announced by secre tary of the Treasury Humphrey, on April 13, does not apply to Series E Savings Bonds, which mature during the same period. Holders of maturing F & G Bonds must make application to exchange their bonds for the new issue before May 1. Local banks will advise holders on making the exchange, Mr. Doyle said. April weather has been about as variable as that of March. The temperature reached the big mark on Saurday, when mrcury regis tered 85 degrees, but was followed by a drop of 40 degrees or so in a few days. The season is back ward, but farmers have kept the teams and tractors going and have done considerable plowing. In many parts of the town pota toes have been planted and the prospects are looking good. A series of four-minute talks featured the April meeting of the Parent-Teacher association in the assembly room of the Phelps High School last Friday evening on topics relating to child feeding and the relative amount of work and play for boys. An interest ing address was also given by Clarence Johnson of Canandaigua, who has charge of the Junior Home project work. The meet ing was well attended. Officers for the ensuing year were elect ed as follows President, Mrs. H. S. G Loveless, vice-president, Mrs George P Parmelee, Mrs Edward Fairman and Prof. Earl Crowell, secretary, Mrs. L. H. Facer, corresponding secretary, Mrs. George Fetzer, treasurer, Mrs. R H. Crane. The principal speaker at the next regular meet ing of the association Tuesday, May 1st, will be Dr. W A. Howe of Albany, formerly of Phelps, who is associated with the Med ical inspection division of the state Department of Health.
