Taft of j'402 N. Main Street, Canandaigua. died in F. F. Thompson Memorial' Hospi- tal June 6, 1962. 'He was 1 89. The son of the late Howard B.jTaft and Emma Brigham, Rev. Taft was born, in Lenawee Cojunty, Michigan, July 2, 1872. : j Rev. Taft was a graduate' of Kalamazoo College, Michigan!, and was also graduated from the Col- gate Rochester Divinity Sfthool, Class of 1899. He served his fl-st pastorate at North Baptist Church in Rochester; from there he'went to .Prescott, Arizona, and served as pastor of the First Baptist Church. He then went ; to the First Baptist Church. Crippled Creek, Colorado, and then to the First Baptist Church, Fairbury, Nebraska. He also, served as pas- tor of the Grace Baptist Church, Omaha, Nebraska, and in 1918 he came to Fairport and was pastor of the First Baptist Church here for 22 years. He retired in 1940 and moved to Canandaigua. Dur- ing his retirement, he served for another 13 years a.s minister of ,the Cottage City United Church. During- his pastorate in iFair- Bob Costanza, Fairport's ace port, Rev.
