Nasmith, of Marlon, w h o ' for a numlSer of years was pastor of the Orleans B*pU»t Ctrarchf and who pasted away May 26, 1946 at the age of 93, Ray Nasmith has served in the American Consular service for 40 years and has been located in Limoges, Franco, Brussels, Belgium and was m Belgium at tile outbreak of World War Its Mr. and Mrs. Nasmith were mar ried in Brussels, in June 1915 and when war was declared w ith Germany he was assigned to Am sterdam, H olland and later to Rotterdam. W ith the end of the war in 1918- he was appointed Gonml at Gftfoff, Belgium, and five years later to New Castle- on-Tyre, in England. In 1927 he was transferred to Porto Alegre in Southern Brazil for a four- year stay and in 1931 he was sent to Marseille, France and foun years later to Edinburgh, Scotland. In December 1946 be retired from Consular service. They have made their home u ■Marion since and plan to return there after two years abroad w ith their daughter and renew ing acquaintances m various sec tions of the British Isles.
