Penn Tan, Oct. 1—The open 'season for hunters for killing rabbits begins today, and each hunter wlU be entitled to kill six rabbits per day. The season closes on March 1st next. Skunks may bo killed from November lQth to February 10th. There are usually a large number of rabbits and skunks found in these parts. The pheasant season opens in the month of October, the open days for killing pheasants are the lest two Thursdays of October nnd the first two Saturdays In November. Pheasants are reported not, to be Very plentiful in these parts. Only male birds according; to law may be killed. Squirrels may be legally killed from October 1st to November 15th. Sunday Is to be ob- served as Pay-Up-Sunday. It is hoped that this time all back in the payment of local and denominational pledges Will meet their indebtedness at this time. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, an institute* of afternoon conferences and evening addresses is to b# conducted, with three leaders from, out of town. Mrs. Frederick W. Tomlinson, of Binghamton; Dr. George A. BrlRgrs, of Buffalo; and Benjamin Starr, of New Tork City. The con- ferences will begin each afternoon at 2 o'clock, and the evening- meetings at 8 o'clock. The people of the commun- ity are cordially invited to attend these meetings. Tuesday will be devoted to Sunday schol and young people's work. Wednesday, to evangelism and,Thurs- day to Christian stewardship. Bach evening an offering will be taken to defray the expenses. All day Friday, from 10 a. m., will be occupied with a church roll and the annual business meeting of the church.
