THE FULTON PATRIOT. ESTABLISHED 1837 FULTON, N. Y., WEDNESDAY, JULY 19. 1916 VOL.80; NO-29 COURT NOTES. Surrogate's Court. The account of Cesare Sconfieti, Italian vice-consul at Rochester, as administrator of the estate of Joseph Prestino, late of Fulton, was filed Wednesday. The receipts were $914 and the expenses were $424 and the balance remaining in the hands of the administrator was $490,28. The expenses included $215 counsel fees and lefral expenses of Anthony Miceli of Rochester, counsel for the admin- istrator, and $45.76 commissions for the administrator. Letters of administration have been issued to Nellie M, Boomer of Fulton, widow of Walter J . Boomer, who died July 9th, leaving an estate valued at $2,000. The collateral inheritance tax on the estate of the late Cadwell B. Ben- son of Minetto, was paid to the state comptroller on June 20th. It was $8,717.15, indicating an estate of $871,150, all of which, excepting a few minor bequests, g-oes to Mrs. \Benson. A petition for letters of adminis- tration on the estate of Jennie Hud- son, late of Hannibal, was filed by a daughter, Emma Dann of Granby. The estate is valued at $2,100 per- sonal. Three daughters and two sons share in the estate. The account of C. James Lusk, as executor of the estate of Harriet S. Lusk, shows that the total amount re- ceived was $1,112.45, from which ex- penses and debts were paid, the bal- ance pcing to Mr. Lusk. License Seized by Sheriff. - Acting under orders from District Attorney Culkin, Under Sheriff &ich- »rd Schulz on Thursday seized the license owned by William Lewis at his hutel near Bottle Island and the place is now closed for one year. Lewis pleaded jruilty to an indict- ment found against him for running n disorderly house. Crouie Violated Parole. Guy Crouse WAS arrested upon n warrant by Deputy Sheriff Collins on Friday morning and taken to Oswejro to answer to the chargrc of having violated the terms of his parole, the allegation being thnt Croupe, tvfter a ; conviction upon the charge of adul- tery had failed to obey nil order uf I the court directing him to report at | intervals to the probation officer of I CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOR NOTES. At the convention of Christian En- j deavorers, held in Syracuse last week, j Daniel Poling of Boston, in his ad- j dress against the drinking habit, J prophesied that the temperance wave that is sweeping over the world means no intoxicating drinks in 1920. He said America would be a saloonless nation. Miss Mildred A. Moody of Wilson, made a very spirited address against the use of tobacco and she predicted that the nation will be i smokeless in 1922. Prof. F. W. Ro-j man of the department of sociology of the Syracuse universitv, had for j his subject, \The Devil of Our Time.\ He criticized clergymen who preach about foreign countries, but overlook | local evils. He flayed users of to-; bacco. He stated that educators or i clergymen have no right to smoke. I He also said that any minister who I would ask the blessing at a banquet \ where beer and liquors were on the ' table, ought to be struck by lightning by God. The audience,applauded his statements. Second Vice-President, Rev. Frank 0. Belden, D. D., of Mt. Vernon. Third Vice-President, Carlton M. Sherwood of Buffalo. Superintendent of Junior Work, Miss Agnes E. Baker of Buffalo. Superintendent of Intermediate Work, Bernard Clausen of Mi. Ver- non. Treasurer, Willinm H. Brown of Rochester. Directors for Four Years. John R. Clements of Binghamum. Rev. J. R. Sizoo of Wnlden and W. NeUon Ells of Troy. Rev. Martyn Summerheil in his ad- dress on th e decline of ihe ru ru 1 church, stated it wa> largely due to the lack of home wurship — t he n e- gl ec t of f am i 1 y bible re.i ding and prayers. Rev. H- F. Schwarz in his address stated that t,he perpetuity of the na- tion depend? on family atteminnce ;it church services, not one of two mem- bers, but the whole family. He was for several years with the Hunt- er Arms company and later with the American Woolen company. Mr.Chapman was one of the found- ers of the Fulton Game and Gun clnb and was one of the most accurate trap shots in this section of the state. He was also an active member of ICe- ahtawanta lodge of Odd Fellows and the Fulton tent of Maccabees. For the past twelve weeks, Sir.
