Dr. Henry P. deForest, wno is bet- ter known to old Fultonians as Har- ry deForest, has for! ten years been snrgon of the police department of New York city/with the rank of in- spector, and since 1912 he has been, the chief medical examiner of the civil service'commission of New York city. He annually makes the physical examination of 25,000 men and wo- men for all of the physicians of New York city, including the police and fire departments and for all promo- tions in these departments. He is professor of obstetrics in the New York Post Graduate Medical school and hospital. He was one of the or- ganizers and a charter member of the University club of Brooklyn, as well as being one of the older members of the Cornell club of New^York city. At I o'clock the party proceeded to the Clark House for din- ner. Prior to the serving 1 , Mayor Victor Lewis on behalf of the city of Pulton extended the hospitality of the municipality to the visitors and hoped their visit would be one of uninter- rupted pleaswe- At the short business session, the association voted to hold its October meeting at the Onondaga in Syracuse and the president was authorized to appoint parties to read papers before the association at th.3t meeting. The invitation extended by Editor Bradt on behalf of President Paddock to visit the plant of the Oswego Falls Pulp & Paper Company was accepted. After dinner the party returned to the Elks' Home, where several cars kindly donated by the citizens of Fnl- ton were filled by the members of the association and led by the car containing Mayor and Mrs. V. C. Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Morin, representing the chamber of com- merce, and President Sikea and wife, representing the association, the party proceeded down the west river road to Oswego, visiting Fort Ontario and getting a fine view of Oswego harbor and Lake Ontario. The re- turn trip was made on the east river road to the Elks' Home, where the company disbanded. Several of the visitors went to the plant of the Os- wego Falls Poip and Paper company and President H. L. Paddock conduct- ed them thj*oQ;gh the various build- ings, showing them how paper is made and also through the new pow- er plant.
