As the wagon cou!d,Jiot- carryJhe entire family Mr. VanParysand little Mary De Pauw plann- ed to walk, When the two reached the railroad tracks they saw an east bound car approaching and evidently thought they bad plenty of time to cross. The car .was in charge, of Conductor Harley E. Lounberry'futd Motorman Gus Hosford, both of.4his village. The car „was immediately,; stopped and the .dead man and the?)n-' jured girl were brought to Newark. Undertaker, W. B. Roche took charge of the body and Railroad Surgeon, jbr. E. P. Thatcher took the liBle girl to the Homeopathic Hospital at Roches- ter on the 10:29 limited where\she is., doing nicely. ' Mr. Van Parys was well known among the Hollanders of this section and' Wa* very well regarded. He leaves two sons and four daughters : Peter Vatt-> Parys, John Van Parys, \Jr. the former living in Holland and the latter njeai? Port Gibson, Mrs. Peter De frieze, Mrs,, John DePauw and Mrs. Edward Wonters all living near Port Gibson and Mrs. Jacobus HameHnck of Hol- land. The deceased was a member of St. Michael's church from which the funeral was held Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock with burial in Willow Avenue' Cemetery.
