A delicious dinner with turkey and all the trimmings-was served at 6:30. Covers were laid for forty-eight. The house wa s prettily decorated in Christ mas colors, holly and mistletoe pre - dohninating. The favors, place cards and tallies also carrying ou t the color scheme. After the sumptuous dinner the party assembled to play bridge. There being twelve tables. High score, wa s won by Mrs'. W . K. Beebe. AU were enthusiastic in their praise of the delicious • dinner and splendid manner in which ifc wa s serv ed, an d the atmosphere of comfort and* hospitality which pervaded. Mrs. West* the proprietor, is to be con gratulated upon the splendid arrange ments which contributed so material ly to the success of the party. When we used t o put lots of straw into the bottom of the sleigh box, with plenty of blankets and. robes, and all the boys and girls pilecl in. regardless. Then the horses started off amid the music of sleigh bells an d the shouts of \the boys and gfrls. Away they went, singing, talking and laugh ing\. Then they Would call on some neighbor and spend an hour or more in real fun, with a lunch and perhaps a dance. Then home again with, cheeks aglow with health, and hearts filled'with happiness. . ! Now you rarely hear a sleigh bell, sleigh parties ar e almost unknown, and we miss something of the good fellowship and lasting friendships which these parties fostered. They are well worth reviving. Bentley gave a surprise party Monday evening in honor of their daughter Odrie, who was celebrating her birthday. The party was a complete surprise to Odrie. She had gone t o the mov ing picture show and when called home at 8 o'clock, found thirty of her friends awaiting her. The evening was spent in playing games and a t eleven o'clock, dainty refreshments were served by the hostess. Carlsen, who left Sar dinia, December 6th, for Norway, arrived there on December 15th.
