Zielenieski of Hiram Lake Road, will receive a B.S. degree from Rosary Hill College, Buffalo, during commencement exercises in Kleinhans Music Hall on Sunday, May 24. A graduate of Arcade Central High School, Miss Zielenieski has majored in music at Rosary Hill. Holland Student To Attend Delhi College Sheila Wagner of Carpenter Road, South Wales, has been accepted for admission in September to the State University Agricultural and Technical College at Delhi. She will study agricultural technology. Sheila plans to graduate from Holland Central High School, Class of 1970 and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wagner The college has an extensive continuing education program on and off campus, as well as a complete summer session program for students of Delhi College and others who wish to attend summer school. It prides itself in its long tradition and academic excellence, and in serving the needs of the community and surrounding area Houghton Senior Hired For Pioneer Central Mrs Ann E. Smith, Houghton, win teach English in the Yorkshire building of Pioneer Central School in September. She will be in the June, 1970 graduating class of Houghton College. Her husband teaches mathematics and physics at Houghton Academy Mrs. Smith did her practice teaching in English 9 and 10 at Greece Arcadia High School, Greece, N.Y. Her summer work while attending college included children's librarian at Greece and conducting a children's story hour at the Scottsville library Former Arcadian Appointed To Position At Utica College R. Richard Vogel, director of student services at Utica College, has announced the appointment of David G Lewis as resident living advisor Mr Lewis is a former resident of Arcade and is presently a secondary school social studies teacher at Hammond Central School He is a graduate of Arcade Central School, Auburr Community College, and the State University of New York at Oswego His wife, the former Elizabeth Hunt of Oakfield, will be a 1970 graduate of the State University of New York at Oswego. Utica College, a division of Syracuse University, is a four-year coeducational college offering majors leading to the degree of Bachelor of Arts or Science. FORMER PIONEER PUPIL GOING TO GIRLS STATE Representing Avon Central School at the annual New York State Girls State in June, 1970 will be April R. Wiedemann, a member of the junior class, and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Wiedemann, Barber Road. The program will last from June 21 to June 27, and Will b* conducted at the State University of New York at Albany. Prior to entering Avon Central, April attended Pioneer Central School in Arcade Jane HyUnd Accepted At Brtckporf State Jane E. Hyland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. James Hyland of Arcade, has been accepted at the State University College of Arts and Science at Brockport for enrollment in the fall 1970 semester classes. The College expects an undergraduate enrollment of nearly 6,5 00 in September, consisting of 1,950 freshmen and 1,400 transfer students. The current undergraduate enrollment is 4,400 students. KiitdergarfnersTo Register At Lefchworth Schools Kindergarten registration for children beginning Kindergarten in the Letchworth Central School District in September, 1 9 70 is scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, at the elementary schools in Castile, Pike, Bliss, Silver Springs. The registration period in all schools will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p jn. Letchworth District children who become five years of age on or before December 8, 1970 and have proof of receiving smallpox, polio and measles immunizations are eligible for kindergarten admission in September, 1970 To be eligible for admission to first grade, children must be six years of age on or before December 8, 1970 Arcade Librarian Attends Workshop The librarian of the Arcade Free Library, Mrs. Arlene Rix, recently attended a workshop on adult services standards, which was held in the auditorium of the Rochester Public Library for the Pioneer Library System, of which Arcade is a member. The program consisted of a panel discussion and several group discussions designed to present practical ideas for implementing some of the standards in each separate library. Approximately 150 librarians, trustees and other library personnel attended the meeting. A tour of the Rochester Library was also conducted The Pioneer Library System covers the counties of Monroe, Wayne, Wyoming, Livingston and Ontario- MM;, Irene Swanton,' system* director of Wyoming County, was cited for having 100% representation of the member libraries and Arcade was recognized for traveling the longest distance. July teremony Mr. and Mrs. Robert Merzig of Freedom announce the engagement of their daughter, Marie, to Terry M. Bialy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Bialy of Hinsdale. The wedding will take place in July. HOLLAND GOLDEN AGERS The Holland Golden Age Club will meet at the Town Hall Monday, May 25 at 1 p.m. for a dessert luncheon. The program will be games. The hosts will be Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Barber and their committee. Detevan-Hachias PTA To Hold May Banquet A family tureen banquet will climax the year's activities of the Dele van-Machias Parent Teacher's Association at 7 p.m. Monday, May 25\ in the cafeteria of the local school. Mrs. Alfred Weber of the sixth grade mothers is chairman of arrangements. Mrs. Dorothy Gormely, New York State PTA vice president will be the speaker.
