He won that title Labor Day weekend, In August he placed eighth in the world tournament in Fargo, N.D. He finished first in the North American champ- lonships, and in July be placed second in the Eastern Nation- als at Erio, Pa. By now you've guessed i, it's Carl Steinfeldt of 44 Ridge - crest Rd., pride of Greece in the reaim of horseshoe pitch- my Carl's record through the years is pretty impressive, but what's even more impres- sive is that he has passed on his knowledge to his daugh- ter and son. Botty Steinfeldt won the Class C Women's World Tour- nameat in Fargo, in 1965 tock first in Kow York State Class B, and in 19864 secord in the Stato Class A. Son Carl is also an excellent horsoshoe pitcher, and in 1962 teamed up with his dad in the national toornameat in the first from winning the New York State Horse- father-son combination in the history of the nationals. His work as assistart to Maury Silver, president of the Rochester Red Wings, has kopt him too busy to compete in recent years. And as for Mrs. Steinfoldt, sho is hor busband's star rooter.
