Streeter of 221 Keyes Road, Honeoye Falls has been promoted to his present rank while serving with the 2nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. A 1987 graduate of Honeoye Falls- Lima High School, he joined the Marine Corps in April 1988. PRIVATE BRADLEY J, ROSIEK, son of Thomas A. and Donna M. Rosiek of 97 Boughton Hill Road, Honeoye Fans has completed an Army Motor Transport Operator course at Fort Dix, New Jersey. During the course, stud- ents were trained in the operation and maintenance of military vehicles of less than four and one- half tons rated capability. Ins- truction was also given in the transportation of personnel, equipfrnent and supplies. Pvt. Rosiek is a 1988 graduate of Honeoye Falls-Lima High School. MARINE LANCE CORPORAL ROBERT C. MONTGOMERY, son of Karen S. and Robert C. Montgomery of Holcomb, has been promoted to his present rank while serving with the 3rd Marine Division in Okinawa, Japan. A 1987 graduate of East Bloomfield Central School, he joined the Marine Corps in August, 1987. ON DEAN'S LIST MELISSA KAREN SAUER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis W. Sauer of 2802 Rush-Mendon Road in Honeoye Falls, has been named to the fall semester Dean's List at Bowling Green State University in Bowl- ing Green, Ohio. Melissa was one of 185 Seniors with a grade point average of 3.5 'on a 4.0 scale), placing her in the top 12% of the University's under- graduate student body. She is earning her degree in the college of Education and Allied Pro- . fessions. WALTER FREDER- ICK SACKETT of 1676 Rochester Street, Lima has been named to the Fall 1988 Dean's List at Alfred State College in Alfred, NY. To earn Dean's List status, students had to achieve a minimum 3.5 (B plus) index out of a possible 4.0 (straight A) for the semester. Thursday, January 12, 1989 PERRY MAN NEW LOCAL ARMY RECRUITER SGT. MARK J, SNYDER Sgt Mark J. Snyder, a 1980 Perry High School Graduate, arrived for Army recruiting duty at the Mt Morris Army Recruiting Station in early September. He was a cheif (artillery) surveyor in Asch- affenburg, West Germany, where he was for three years. He's also been assigned duty in Korea and was based stateside at Fort Campbell in Kentucky and Fort Polk in Louisiana. Sgt. Snyder, wife Laurie and their 2-year-old daughter, Hiedi, Jive in Mt. Morris. Sgt. Snyder says recruiting is important not only to the Army, but to America. Young men and women can get a good start in life with training, or plan for college in the future with the Army College Fund, He'll be working with Geneseo, Honeoye, Livonia, and York High Schools and the State Uni-versity of New York at Geneseo. Questions about Army programs, such as getting college credit for Army training· and experience; training-of- and station-of-choice assignments; two-, three-, and four-year enlist- ments; and others, can be directed to Sgt.
