HONEOYE FALLS, N.Y. 35eeopy THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1, 1987 SIO.OO year Lima Town GOP Candidates Annollnced RON YORKS The Lima Republican caucus, with almost 100 people present, recently nominated four incumbent office holders and one political newcomer for the five offices to be filled at the Nov. 3 eJection. Ron Yorks is running for his sixth term as Supervisor of the Town of Lima. Ron is a member of the Livingston County Board of Supervisors, serving on the Social Services, Tax and Public Safety Com- mittees. Ron is a life-long resident of Lima and resides at 6940 Heath-Markam Road with his wife, Barbara and thcir four daughters. He and, his brother, Bob, have operated a dairy farm for over three decades. Ron's_ other memberships include the Lima Rotary Club, Lima Republican Club, and Lima Gun Club. Ron, additionally, has served as past Town Chairman of the Lima Republican Party and past Livingston County Republican Exccutive Corn- milleeman. RON BLODGETI' Ron Blodgett, one of the incumbents, and Fran Gotcsik are the candidates for Town Board; Ron resides at 1588 Bragg Street. He has three children, Barbara Ann, who is married, two sons Ron J r. and David. Ron has owned, in partnership, a dairy and crop farm in Lima for the past 3S years. He has been a member of the Honeoye Falls-Lima School Board for nine years and currently serves as president. He is also president of the Lima Republican Club. FRAN GOTCSIK Council, Livingston County representative to the Rural Preservation Network Steering Committee, and memer of the Board of Trustees of the Landmark Society of Western New York. - Fran believes that her research experience, involvement with a wide variety of Lima and area organizations, and her allen dance at Town Board and Planning Board meeti~s and public hearings h~IS given her valuable preparation for serving the people of Lima as Town Councilwoman. Finally, Harold I-Iarris and Ken Barber arc seeking the support of the Lima voters for re- elcction as Town Justice and Highway Superintendent respec- tively. Harold resides on West Main Road with his wife Robyn, and daughter Tanya. He is a 1970 graduate of Honeoye Central School. He has a Master's license in barbering and has been an employee of Eastman Kodak for 15 years. Harold is a member of St. Rose Church, Lima Rotary OLD HARRIS Club, and a past member, of S years, of the Lima Ambulance Squad. He has been Lima Town Justice since January 3, 1983. Harold is a graduate of basic and, advanced justice training courses. Ken Barber is a life- long resident of Lima who is seeking re-election to the position of Lima Highway Superintendent. He has exper- ience in Highway Budgeting and Expenditures and can operate all Town Equipment. Ken has been with the Lima Highway Department for 23 years, the last .two as Superintendent 'of , Highways. ' Ken and his wife Gladys reside on Boran Road and have five children. Fran, her husband George, and daughters Leah and Marah reside at 7364 East Main Street in the home they purchased in 1973. Birmingham Attends Library Institute Fran received a B.S. with distinction from Cornell University's College of Agri- culture and Life Sciences and a M.S. in biology from the University of Rochester. She has been employed as a research associate by the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Mack Consulting Asso- ciates. Fran has always had a keen interest in serving and promoting Lima. She is president of the Lima Historical Society, treasurer of the Women's Association of the Lima Presbyterian Church, member of.the Lima Crossroads Ray Birmingham of Cheese Factory Rd, a new trustee of Mendon Town Library attended the 10th Annual Library Trustee Institute in Albany, SepL 18-19. The Trustee Institute is sponsored by the New York State Library and the New York State Association of Library Boards. It brings together library trustees from all over New York State in an effort to help them better understand and prepare for their roles as library trustees. The Academic All- American Collegiate Scholars must eam a 3.30 or better grade point average. Only scholars selected by a school official or other qualified sponsor are accepted. These scholars are also eligible for other awards given by the USAA. These are awards few students can ever hope to , attain.
