The reason it is so hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of, Heaven 'is' that he has a false sense of Security. To demand N it just dis- integrates a man. I don't know,-why, —it does, ... The mastery of life comes with the knowledge of our Power (to endure. That's it. You are safe only when you can stand every- thing that can happen to you. Thus and thus only! Endurance* (is the measure of a mam . . . Courage is se eurity. There is no other kind. Such a conception of life ennobles it. Youth leaps within all of us when we take, this view. Life infeans some- thing. When looked upon as an ad- venture life finds a place for the prin- ciples of faith. We need'no absolute assurance that life is going to be safe at every turn of the road. When we think of life as an adventure it quick- ens t the imagination and inflames the heart and deepens our interest in it. Viewed otherwise it becomes dull and flat and stationary. Conceived as an adventure the glamor and glory of life js never dimmed. It gives us world's to conquer. What we want is t o live ovx own life.
