Mark Slate (Noel Harris**) and April Dancer (Stefanie Powers) get separated on a mission to an African country whose treasury of Jewels is in constant Jeopar- dy. Before they discover each other again, Mark's been hood- winked by a bogus agent (Les- lie Uggams), nearly killed by a western - oriented but tradition- loving African king, and April's doom is almost sealed on a saf- ari with four males. (Color) 1:30 Ck 3 - Red Skeitea. A new Christmas play starring Freddie the tramp and actress Greer Garson. The two of them outwit laywers and scheming characters, bent on taking over the Garson Theatre and turn- ing it into an office building, by holding a holiday show for orphans. Miss Garson and Red sing and dance, and the Naval Bluejacket Choir from San Die- go sing holiday carols. Cornel Wilde plays the dashing adventurer and poet who batttes a gang of assassins with the proper style, while Debra Pag- et makes an attractive heroine. Good actors Raymond Massey and Michael Rennie also do tfltefar hit to freshen up the tern- filar plot. (Color) 1:00 Ck* t — The Pnritts ef Southampton. 'The Hubcap Caper.\ Phyllis Diller is up to her silly antics in this outland- ish, but fairly amusting entry §bout stolen hubcaps, uncooper- ative polke and motorcycle gangs. Phyllis and her ambling butler Sturgis do some ama- teur sleuthing when they come up against police indifference to the theft of a set of \lucky\ hubcaps. (Color) 10:00 Ch. J - CBS Reports. \Harvest of Mercy.\ An illum- inating and colorful study of America's huge shipments of wheat to India during the past year. It Is difficult for most Americans to contemplate a situation in which 70 million people could die of starvation, and where the wages of a \for- tunate\ worker would be 40 cents per day. Yet that is one of the dilemmas of pre6ent-day India with its enormous rise in population. There are interest- ing segments showing the var- ious mechanized processes in- volving the transportation of wheat from midwestern farms to the tiny villages of India. Narrator Burdett reminds us that this massve rescue mis- sion may momentarily have averted a catastrophe. b u t that it solved nothing A dis- turbing and rewarding hour. (Color) 10:01 Ch. 8 - The Fugitive. \The Blesings of Liberty.\ A good drama with interesting characters and a well thought- out plot. Kimtte's involvement this week is with an immigrant family he meets while working in an upholstery warehouse. The family has a secret reason of its own to fear the police which, coupled with Kimble's ever - present awareness erf the law, charges the atmt> sphere with tension. (Color).
