Oct; f 1959 ; 5 Cents Gre^ 'Y'Plans New Youth Program In Spotlight at Barnard Auxiliary Banquet William Bruce, secretary of Greece Branch, Young Men's Christian Association, announced plans this week for a series of square dances as a basis for oijganization of a new and permanent club program for the t|wn'js teen-agers. The dances are scheduled foriNovember 13 and 27 and December 11 at the Grange H a ll^ Ridge Road West. Frank Gillik of Buffalo will serve as ^ller for the dance series, according to E. Paul Dean, chairman of the project. Biltncr, Inc. Sliippjng aside to enable a vet eran of many years in the news paper field to realize a long-stand ing ambition were Fernando Di Nardo and Cosmo A. Plantpne, builders, and William E. Easton, attorney, who joined Angevine and his wife last February in tak ing over the publication, formerly known as the Greece Press.- It was acknowledgc’d at the time that their chief purpose was to a.ssure continuance of a hometown newspaper in the best interests of the comrnunity. They relinquished their holdings yesterday with the belief that their mission has been accomplished and that the news paper is in good hands. Angevine and his wife ex pressed their gratitude for the assistance of -Di Nardo, Plantone and Easton in the original under taking and for their cooperation throughout the seven months that the newspaper has been under their direction. Angevine started his newspaper career at the age of 16, writing high school news for the Demo crat & Chronicle at space rates and later covering general sports. His ardor for the newspaper bus iness came naturally. His grand father was a newspaperman for many years and his father was City Hall reporter and political writer for the D&C until his death in 1919. The new co-owner of the Great er' Greece Press attended ’West High School and Colgate, Roches ter and Syracuse universities. He has had more than 30 years of ex perience in full-time newspaper work, having serwed in various capacities with the old Rochester Journal-American, Syracuse Her ald, the Titnes-Union, before en tering the weekly newspaper field. He was editor of the Iron- dequoit Press and’^.Greece Press when he and his ffiefids bought the Greece newpapejr last Winter. Angevine is a member of Col gate Chapter, Phi Delta Theta na tional fraternity; Greece. Council, Rochester Chamber of Commerce, and Greece Lodge of Elks. He is . secretary-treasurer of the Stadiuna, Club of Rochester,an organization of former .athletes, coaches ahd sports officials, and serves as * town historian.
