The music by the Senior High Band and the choral presenta- tions will be under the direction Of Dept. Head Charles E. Lucle, Band Director Gordon Bascom, and Chorus Director Geraldine Ball. The public is welcome. The recent pancake supper by the Band Boosters was a huge strecess. Nearly 1,000 tickets were sold. The State University of Buf- falo has been selected to repre- sent New York State in the In- agural Parade, The 300 member band is one of the state's finest . . . but Hilton's was among the top-runners and was fiearly sel- ected for the honor! Programs to Honor Christ Chirstmas Sunday will tbe ob- served at the Hilton United Methodist Church Sunday, De- wember 22, Church School class- es will be held at 9:45 a. m. for Christmas Asserably and pageant rehearsal, During the Worship Service at 11 a. m., church fam- flies will worship together and hear the Christmas story and sing Christmas hymns. The Rev. John J. Kelly, pastor, will speak on the theme: \For Unto You a Savior Is Born\. Sunday evening at five the Annual Church School Christ mas program will be held in the Sanctuary, followed by a Family Christmas Dinner in the Fellowship Hall. Those attending should bring dish to pass and table service. On Christmas Eve, December 24 two services have been plan- ned. Between the hours of 7-8:80 p .m. the Sanctuary will ibe open for individual and family com- munion. Those attending are asked to enter the Sanctuary quietly and then come to the Communion Table to receive the Sacrament, then leave the Sanctuary after the dismissal prayer. Af 11 p. m., Christmas Eve, the traditional Service of Carols and Candles will be eld. The public is invited to attend both services. The Two Brothers Barber Shop which he has been: operat- ing has been purchased by his brother, Warren, and is closed this week for remodeling On December 26, the shop will re- open with another localite, Steve Birecree as mamiger. Steve graduated from Syracuse Barber College and has worked for the past five years at a West Ridge shop. Red Shack Opens A new business for Parma is open this week In the former location of the Jim Dandy Res- taurant, 4704 Ridge Road West. The Red Shack will offer a line of fine gentlemen's clothing, Hydrants Not Wanted Board Believes Since petitions have been out some time and not returned, Parma Town Board concluded on Monday, December 9, that residents along North Avenue are not interested in the estab- lishment of a hydrant district. This is the third time such a district has been discussed, but the cost of $125 per hydrant apparently has dissouraged the initial interest in a district for which North Avene residents petitioned in 1987, foHowing a fire at Sands Homestead Farm. Parma Serviceman Killed in Viet Nam The day before the 'birth of his first child, Pic. John L. Waugh, 24, son of Mr. and Mrs. V. T. Waugh,. 915 Parma Center Road, was killed in Vie&€nam, His parents learned of his death Monday, the. same day that his wife, Donna, gave birth to Christine Lyon at Highland Hospital. Pfc. Waugh had been in Viet Nam less than a month when wounded October 24 when he was accidentally hit by fire from an American helicopter to which he had been giving radio direct- ions. After a month in the hos- pital recovering from his chest wounds, he was returned to duty again. A week later, he was kill- ed by mortar fragments when a mortar shell fired from behind him fell short of its Garget, He was born in Tennessee and came to the Rochester area with his parents in 1946, attending school in Irondequoit and Hilton. For four years prior to his induction April 22, he was em- ployed in the parts department of Heinrich Motors, Inc. He then trained at Ft. Dix, N. J. and at Camp Polk, La., leaving for Viet Nam in Septembet. He leaves his wife and daugh- ter, his parents and a brother, Thomas; his paternal grand- mother, Mrs. Clara Waugh and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Giberson, all of Rochester. Pfc.
