The system of dickering, bannering and - cutting prices is a species of robbeiy which \ steals from one man and gives to another. It is neither fair nor honest. It leads to N cheating and lying. It makes the merchant dishonest and the customer suspicious and is troublesome and wearying to the last degree. I am doing business to make a living and therefore expect a living profit. I have fixed my^ prices at a reasonable margin, which will be adhered to without exception. One man'* . money is as good as anotliers and all who , come to inyTstore will be used exactly alike. Every article in the store is marked at a fair. price, in plain figures at which it must be r sold. I CASH ON THE SPOT. This is the foundation prinicple of business. The credit system has rushed thousands i of merchants and millions of customers. It robs the industrious and honest men, for the bene- fit of the idle and vicious. It plunges the poor man into slavery, which steals his wages before he earns them. It puts an iron collar arQund his neck and holds his nose to the grindstone all his life. Credit leads to extravagance, idleness and misery, it is easy to get into debt but very hard to get out. The whole world is hopeless- ly in debt, Nations, States, Cities, Counties, Towns, and Individuals are struggling with debts which amount to mdfr) than all the property on the' face of the globe. These, debts like a cancer are eating up the lives of the people. If you avould prosper don't get into debt v Pay cash for what you buy. Buy only what, you nefed and you will be surprised at how much easier it is to get along. On the nlxw'e principle I solicit a share of your patronage.
