Below is C! sam- pling of the noteworthy incidents on Grand Island. °Base|ine Road, suspicious person — A complainant stated‘ a male subject knocked on. -‘her door and was asking to be ‘let inside. The male left prior to the arrival of patrol. Deputies spoke with a manager on scene who saw the subject and identified him as a former tenant. Deputies. located the subject at his place of employment and advised him to stay away tram the complain- ant's residence. °Sheree Drive, suspicious in- cident — A complainantstated that it seemed someone entered her residence sometime in recent days. Deputies checked the resi- dence and determined the com- plaint to be -unfounded. -Curl Road, suspicious inci- dent — A complainant stated she arrived home and found her rear door open. Deputies checked the residence but found no persons inside. Nothing was reported missing and\the door was deter‘ ‘minecl to ‘be an oversight. -i'|'.hird Street, suspicious ve- hicle — A complainant stated a suspicious vehicle was parked in her driveway during the late eve.- ning hours. It was determined the vehicle belonged to a friend. A check of the vehicle's plates determined that the vehicle was reported stolen from the City of Buffalo. No persons were seen driving the vehicle before it was parked in the lot. Deputies located the male subject, who stated he was waitin For the bus to arrive. -Grand Island Boulevard, suspicious person with ve- hicle — A complainant stated -Fernwood Lane, suspicious person with vehicle — A com- plainanfstafed a male subjectwas sitting in a vehicle outside of her SEE ERIE continued on Page 19 C sta en Sheriff's Office 2-car accident leads to DWI charge for e driver bas ext uri Erie County Undersheriff Mark Wipperman reports the arrest of a male driver for driving while in- toxicated after deputies were dis- patched to a two—vehicle crash on Grand Island Monday night. ‘ V When deputies Jason Clark and Bradley Girdler arrived at the crash scene at Baseline and Bedell roads, they began inter- viewing individuals involved. The deputies suspected one of the drivers, Murugan Arumugam, 47, of Grand Island, was intoxicated. The report stated deputies gave Arumugam several opportu- nities to satisfactorily complete a breath test. In the opinion of the deputies, the subject was refus- ing 'to follow instructions properly and placed him in custody. ’ Arumugam was charged with DWI, refusal -to take a breath test, unsafe lane change and failure to use the designated ‘lane. The subject was transported to the Erie County holding Center pend- ing arraignment in Grand Island Town Court Dec. 23. , .
