Juzwiak , director ot adult educa- tion. The program is desi gned to strengthen the theory back ground of persons experienced in engi- neering, and aid them in preparing for the professional engineering examinations. Benefit will also be realized by those preparing for promotional engineering examin- ations , Mr. Juzwiak said. Registration dates are January 23 , 24 , 25 and 26 from 7:30 to 9:30 p. m. in Room 114 at the high school. Registration fee is $5 a subject , and the first class will start at 7 p. m. January 30. Outline of the progi'am , with an academic year of two 15 or 16 week terms , is as follows : First year — first term , mathematics and physics; second term , strength of materials and structural de- si gn. Second year—concrete de- sign , machine design , thermodyna- mics , hydraulics , economics and electricity. ASSETS FOR 1960 — Security National Bank of Long Island hac gone over the $200 , 000 , 000 mark for the fi ?\s t time in its 57-year history, it was announced this week by Herman H. Maass , pre - sident cf the 27-branch banking chain with offices throug hout Suf - folk and Nassau Counties. With assets now totaling $212 , - 649 , 988 the bank has increased its total resources by $21 , 415 , 850. Cash dividends for 1960 were $1 per share compared to 50 cent? for the previous year amounting to a 100 per cent increase. Net operating earnings before taxes were approximately 25 per cent over 1959. Mr. Maass reports that \The year 1960 reflects one of the most gratifying, progressive and pro- fitable years in the history of Security National. \ New branches were opened last year in Com- mack and Wyandanch; a new building was opened in Shirley with another nearing completion in Melville slated for its formal opening early in 1961.
