Station Plaza PORT JEFFERSON STATION — The Tinker National Bank , which began in East Setauket in 1920 , will celebrate its fortieth year by opening a new office , its third , in tempora ry quarters on the parking lot of the Port Jefferson Station Shopping Plaza . Construction of a permanent facility will start in the near future . ¦—— <8> Next Thursday has been set for the opening and a three-day cele- bration will begin with the tradi- tional ribbon-cutting ceremony by public officials , ending with the presentation of awards at 3 p. m. May 7. The Tinker National Bank is opening the Jefferson Plaza Branch to provide better , more convenient service to more than 3 ,000 cus- tomers between Port Jefferson and Wading River. The new branch will also answer the needs of nu- merous businessmen and indivi- duals in the growing North Shore area who have indicated a desire to bank with Tinker. Since nearly half the bank' s total loan volume originates in this area , the loan department will be moved from the East Setauket home office to the new branch. Assistant Vice President William H. Hubert , who will manage the Jefferson Plaza office , heads the loan department. Miss Barbara Owen is assistant loan officer. The new office will open with three experienced tellers—Mrs. Ruth Wohl , Mrs. Katherine Lorch and Miss Dianne Burr , all former- ly of the Centereach branch. Cecil L. Hall , president , and Mrs. Flor- ence D. Eichacker , secretary, com- plete the staff. Speaking of BUSINESS CUSTOMERS can ask for the craziest things in supermarkets. If you don 't believe it just ask Leonard Locantore , the alert young manager of Bohack' s in Patchogue. Among the zanyish requests that Leonard Locantore the . 'M-year-old manager can re- member are calls for frozen \trol- lops. \ -'destitute \ salt , canned welch \ rabbits '\ and \imported\' Wiscon- sin cheese. Leonard Locantore is very much the local boy who has made good. Horn and raised in Patchogue he got his start some 12 years ago in the very store that he now manages. He was transfe r red to the Sayville branch in 1948 as vegetable manager , where , after an eight year stint , he was made assistant manager of Bohack' s in Moriches. Two years later , last September , he was promoted to be manager of his old store here in Patchogue with a staff of 15 and all the responsibility of being in charge of a large Bohack store. He says that running a super- market is no \drop around on Fri- day and pick up your check\ job. The man at • the top must have a multitude of assorted knowledge. For example , he must know the value of his inventory on hand , be able to order in advance , keep tab of new requests , supervise person- nel , deal with credit requests properly and generally keep his finger on the pulse of the public as it buys for its stomach. As a hoy, Mr. Locantore attend- ed River Avenue Grammar School and later graduated from Patch- ogu e High in 1913. Married to a Patchogue girl , the former Jose- phine Dragone , they now live at lfi Fourth Street with their family of two boys and one girl. All the children go to their father ' s old school , River Avenue Grammar. The I^ocantores are members of the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and the store manage r is also up for nomination for the Patchogue Kiwanis Club . Thursdays and Fridays , when the store is open until (I p. m., are \the busiest\ for the young super- market manager who always makes a careful point to be able to greet all his regular customers b y name. He says that one of the biggest compensations of his pro- motion is that he is now back in Patchogue among friends and neighbors whom he has known all his life . In fact , if Charlie Weaver hadn 't thought of it first , he m' gnt easily say \these are MY people, \ but nevertheless Mr. Locantore is just as convincing with his frank smile and his pleasant , \Did you get all you wanted Mrs. Schwartz?\ Jud ge Dod ge Trial Is Reset to May 9 RIVERHEAD — The trial of County Judge Lloyd P.
