NOTICE OF SPECIAL DISTRICT MEETING Middle Island Centra l School Dis- trict No. 12 of the Town of Brook- haven , Suffolk County, New York The Board of Education of Mid- dle Island Central School District No. 12 of the Town of Brookhaven , Suffolk Countv , New York , HERE- BY GIVES NOTICE that a special district meeting of the qualified voters of said School District will be held at the East Middle School , Yaphank Road , in Middle Island , Town of Brookhaven , New York , in said School District , on the 24th day of May, 1960 , at 2:30 o ' clock P. M., Eastern Day li ght Saving Time , for the purpose of voting by ballot upon the propositions hereinafter set forth. Polls for the receipt of ballots will be kept open between the hours ' of 3 o ' clock P. M. and 10 o ' clock P. M., East- ern Dayligh t Saving Time. PROPOSITION NO. 1 Shall the following resolution be adopted , to-wit: RESOLVED , that the Board of Education of Middle Island Central School District No. 12 of the Town of Brookhaven , Suffolk County, New York , is hereby authorized to construct a new junior senior hi gh school building on the existing Longwood Road Ridge School site now owned by said School District , including original furnishings , equipment, machinery and apparatus , grading and improvement of the site and incidental expenses , at u total estimated cost of $3 ,200 . (100: which sum of $3 , 200 , 000 or so much there- of as may be necessary, shall be raised bv the levy of a tax upon the taxable property of said School District and collected in annual installments as provided hy Sec- tion 416 of the Education Law ; and , in anticipation of such tax , obligations of said School District shall lie issued. PROPOSITION NO. 2 Shall the following resolution be adopted, to-wit: \ RESOLVED , that the \Board of Education of Middle Island Central School District • No. 12 of the Town of Brookhaven , Suffolk County, New York , is hereby auth- orized to construct four additions to existing schools in said School District , including in each instance original furnishings , equipment , machinery and apparatus nnd in- cidenta l grading and improvement of the site and incidental expenses , at a total estimated cost of .$1 , - 903 , 000 , which sum is allocated as follows: a) addition to the Coram School , §(109 , 500 ; b) addition to the West Middle Island School , $450 , 000; c) addition to the Ridge School , $358 , 500 ; and d) addition to the Charles E. Walters School , in Yaphank , $-185 ,000; and such sum of $1 , 903 , 000 being the aggregate of the aforesaid amounts , or so much thereof as may be necessary, shall be raised by the levy of a tax upon the tax- able pronerty of said School Dis- trict and collected in annual in- stallments as provided by Section 410 of the Education Law; and , in anticipation of such tax , obliga- tions of said School District shall be issued.
