Mr. Silberling told newsmen Mr. Hoffman ' s plea of guilty could mean his finish as a lawyer. Dis- barment is not mandatory with a misdemeanor conviction. A certificate of conviction wi'l be forwarded to the Appellate division after Mr. Hoffmann is sentenced , Mr. Silberling said. As to any disbarment proceeding, against Mr. Hoffmann, Mr. Silber- ling stated , \I imagine the Suf- folk County Bar association will take action. \ Bar Association President Gor- don M. Lipetz pointed out a mis- demeanor conviction does not mean automatic disbarment. Mr. Lipetz said the bar association ' s board of directors \ will examine the facts before taking any action. \ Mr. Hoffmann , who was presi- dent of The Bellport National Bunk , was not re-elected to (he post at a meeting of the bank' s shareholders Tuesday night. The trial of County Judge Lloyd P. Judge Dodge , who has taken a leave of absence with pay, bar, asked the Appellate division to dismiss the indictments. Last Thursday. 17 witnesses, most of them builder. - i'lid developers , testified before (In- jury on the Dodge case. The jury meets again today. If the super- seding indictments are found b y the Grand jury, they may be re- turned next Monday. Village Election Continued from page I , this section for not seeking a second term \the pressure of business. \ he was recently appointed a unit manager wilh the E quitable Life Assurance Society. Mr. Parrott has served as a village trustee from April , 1958, to date. Prior to that he served as village manager for a period of two years. In 1950 he was appointed village clerk and served as such for six years. Mr. Parrott , who lives at 130 Carman street , Patchogue . with his wife and four children, has been active in local Democratic politics for the past 10 years . In 1957 he ran , unsuccessfully, for the posi- tion of town clerk for the Town of Brookhaven. He has held the position of committeeman with the Democratic organization on anil off for the past decade. He served as the secretary-treasurer of the Suffolk County ' Village Officials; association and the secretary of the New York State Association of City and Village Clerks. While solving as village clerk . Mr. Parrott earned his Master ' s degree in pliblic administration. Mr. Belzak said that a nominat- ing committee consisting of him- self , and Trustees Waldhauer and Michael Maleita was Conned last week and will meet regularly to determine th\ candidates for the coming election. The terms of Trustees Wald- bauer and William Newhain also terminate this spring. Mr. Belzak said a date for the '¦aucus has not been set and Vil- lage Clerk Salvatore Romeo added (b. -il the deadline date for filing elect ion petitions would be released within the next two weeks . On the other side of the politi- cal street. Patchogue Village Re- publican Leader Sal Scolto , said the Republican nominating commit- tee , which includes Bernard Burton and William T. Rogers , has been meeting Tuesday nights at Suffolk Republican head quarters in Blue Point and will continue weekly sessions until the candidates are chosen . Mr. Scotto said that the nomi- nating committee will come up with qualified men and a platform in the next few weeks. lie added lhat th \ Republican caucus will be held sometime in the latter part of February, but that no definite date had been set. The general economy is seriously threatened while the stu- dent population continues to in- crease wilh almost unbelievable rapidity. One of the reasons for the situation is that there has been no official coordination of the needs and problems of the 90 or more separate school districts—or of these districts with the private schools.
