The battle was so healed that the ollirials were try ing to separate the combatants and resume the game. Seeing the trouble ahead , we tillered our course , hopped over the side and not onl y changed learns and opponents , but also the site of our fray. The rink wasn ' t as good , but it served the sliding purpose. Again we were en route towards the goal—onl y to lie slowed down | lv n stunning bod y check thai sent us spinning around and around. Fortunatel y, Ihe enemy was offside and we were able to right ourselves and continue goalward. Then the diitiest trick of all was thr own af us. It seems the owners of the rink decided In clean the are, -* dropp ing sand all around and jamming till the offensive p layers into the defensive zone. Time was moving along quickl y and before we could get started again, Ihe game was over . The result: A 0-0 deadlock. Forgetting a bout a refreshing snack or warming shower , we just headed for Ihe dressing room , left our equipment—comp lete with sedan-like puck—and headed home. The train ride was safe and comfortable. But mil nearl y as exciting.
