Wood as manager , was hrtwght to a close Monday evenin g with a beaux arts ball in the gym- nasium. Prizes were awarded for best costumes and there we re several entertainment acts. The grand march was led by Prin- cipal Paid Bassett and M iss Eddy and the judges wore Mr. Bassett , Mrs. O. C. Horton , Mrs. Samuel Wernick and Mrs. Brady. The prizes , double portions of ice cream , were awarded to H e le n Kolb and Ruth Johnson , dressed as summer and winter , for the girls , and for the hoys , John Bennett' s colonial costume was adjudged best. The entertainment program includ- ed un exhibition of ballroom dancing by Marjorie Horton and R i c h a r d Carlson; a tap dance by Jimmy Roc- co; East side , West side clog by No- ra Ryder , Marion Fuchs , Allies Ap- plegate and Ross Gottlieb; tap dance by Beatrice Wernick ; whistling act hy Harrold Johnson , and exhibition ballroom dancing liy Beatrice Wern- ick and Robert Conklin , Sylvia Sweet and Harry Lessey, Lorraine Rowland and William Knig ht and Helen Mor- row and John Bennett. Jimmy Rocco ' s crrchestra played and refreshments were served. This class has been m e e t i n g th roughout the year on Tuesday af- ternoons lit 5 o ' clock , paying a nom- inal fe« to cover expenses and the amount left over wns used towards expenses for this dance , wliieh was also attended by parents and friends.
