J a n . 16—A stran g e story comes from C h e s ter co u n ty in this state I t is said t h a t t h e body of G e n e r a l P a k enhara, w h o com m a n d e d th e B ritish the attack on N e w O rleans in 1S13, butied in th a t co u n ty a n d his g r a v e lias been found. Old residents of the county say th a t th e gen e r a l's bodv was packed in a cask of n u n and sent back to E n g land. On its arriv a l there it was. th r o u g h m istake, not even opened, but shipped a g a in , th is tim e for Charleston R e a c h ing th is city it was sent to M cM ullin w h o k e p t a general stock of groceries an d liquors. There a spigot w a s placed in th e barrel, and the boys w h o had re tu r n e d from the w a r would congregate r o u n d th e store take large potations of th e good old Jam a ica r u m an d tell of th e i r exploits. After the ru m w a s ex h a u s ted the head of the cask w a s knocked o u t a n d the body of a m a n w a s fo u n d therein. The news spread like w ildfire an d th e boys gathered to inspect th e body. Several of them had been to N e w O rleans a n d had seen G e n e ral P a k e n h a m . and at once identified th e body as th a t of the general.
