Red Creek Man Held On $1,000 Bail J . W. Davis, 32, of RD Sodus, was arrested Dec. 18 by Tpr. Al Kirkwood and charged with criminal possession of stolen property. The arrest was made on the basis of a complaint by John Knox of Wolcott Street, R e d Creek, involving the theft of his car battery. Arraigned before Town Justice Marvin Decker, Davis pleaded Innocent and was remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $1,000 ball for further court action on Jan. 7. GAYLORD WOLCOTT — Leman Frederick Gaylord, 74, of RD 3 , Wolcott, died in M yers Community Hos pital, Sodus, Sunday, D e c . 20, 1970, where he had been a patient since the previous Frid a y when he had been involved In an auto accident. He had suffered rib fractu r e s , abrasions and contusions in the accident. His death was attributed to a heart attack by D r. Howard C. Hoople of Volcott. Born in Lafayette, Onondaga County, he was a retired farm e r and carpenter. He was a member of Wolcott Presbyterian Church and the Wolcott Amor lean Legion Post, 881. He served with the Army in France during World War I. He is survived by a son, Leman, with the. Navy in Hawaii; two grandsons; four s i s t e r s , M rs. Laura Jenkins, M rs. M a ry Hud son, M rs. Arthur Seelye, all of RD Wolcott, and M rs. Nu>vton Farwell of Geneva; and t*'o brothers, Edward of I.os Angeles, Calif., and W illis of North Fort M yers, Fla. Services were held at 1 :30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23 at the Robertson Funeral Home, Wol cott, with m ilitary honors by Wolcott Post No. 881, Am erican Legion.
