POLITICAL ANNOUNCEMENT Due to circumstances instigated more or less for ulterior motives by a few Republican leaders .instances of little importance in themselves have been enlarged upon until it be comes necessary for me- t o publicly refute the rumors that have been and are being circulated as to my stand in regard to the Republican Party. It has been brought to my atten tion, repeatedly, that I am and have been a Democrat, working for the Democrats and that my sympathies are and have been with them. I am placing the following facts before the people of Arcade for what they are worth in* clearing up these false im pressions, y I have always been an enrolled Republican, when it has been possible for me^to enroll. •« . At the Town election four years ago I worked openly for the party on election day and at many other times have done the same, .being on Elec tion Boards, working as checker, etc., all under the Republican organization Two years ago when the election was held I was spending the winter in Florida, so naturally did not do much of damage to the, party as has been claimed.' , For two years I have been Chair man of the\ .Board of Assessors, by Republican appointment..' At'.the recent Democrat caucus I received a complimentary nomination which I N have resigned. The above facts with the added statement, \That I always have been and' am still; a Republican\ should satisfy any fair minded person as to where I stand politically.
