DEAR IRKED: T~e volun- teers should have been told that because the conipetnicm gets tougher every- year but this year Boris Raymond of New York also got his name on the trophy for the founh t.me. The jack lead forced declarer to use either his ace or his qikvn end left Steve with a sure cub winner for the set- tmc trick. EMERGENCY DRIVE SET BY RED CROSS; Officials of U)e Saranac Lake- Lake Placid Chapter of Red Cross announced last night that an * <r nergeney follow-up\ door to door fund raising drive iiU be conducted on Monday, July 24. iaHou--up dr;ve is being conducted because insufficient funds were raised in the March drive. The main reason the chapter did not reach its goal then was due to the Easter Va- cation which fell during the drive. Many streets were not canvassed and many people were away at the time*, The fund drive effort will take place in both Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. Volunteers will be going door to door in an effort \ to raise enough funds to meetj the financial needs of the ser- j vice to militarymen. the Eiood j Bank, disaster relief, safety, • and other services. j Ronald Keough, chapter eha-j irman, said that the chapter j realised that some persons may; have already given, but in an: effort *b keep the chapter fune-\. tioning and providing ail its services, there, was n° alterna-; tive but to canvass door to door, j \All donations will be greatly' appreciated, and are needed. No donation is too small. It is hoped that those who may have already donated will be able to support the emergency foilow- up drive with some small dona-] tion. Those who have not given' are urged and requested to do their j.hare to help provide ser- vice to military families with Dear Sir: I would like to express my i feelings and that of other local teenagers in regard to our mov- ie theatre in Saranac Lake. It seems the majority of tiae fiinu we receive are In poor ta-Y and do not give a good influence on the youth o/ area Many of them are low and the few left are of our graded for adult, adults only. We're not trying to say that we never see a good movie playing, because we do, occasionally. Another point we would like to bring to your attention is that of the admission prices. We ask ourselves this question: \Why should we pay adult prices when we are not even considered as adults? \ Children between the ages of e 11 e r s knowledge then we did at the age of 10, but *&at &*$ that do to our position on this? It proves that we are neighter adults nor children, but people in-between with feelings of their own. ** Thus, we hope that whoever is responsible for showing the movies that are playin e win see our point and see to it that more wholesome movie s are ; shown in the future. Also, we would like to suggest the idea of hav- ing a special admission fee for teenagers. Something in-between the price of the normal adult ce and children's would be »re appropriate, Thank you. Sincerely, Christine Brusgul 12 an <* 19 called teenagers, If you don't get your paper not adults. True, we have more regularly phone- 891-3600. Every Thmday .rff til «barp.
