yracusd ic at Paul Smith's Before the day was over, well In excess of 24JO high school hope fuls were in attendance at the first annual Syracuse U. scholas tic football clinic at Paul Smith’s last Saturday. In the opinion of the coaches present, the clinic will be a must for future years with, perhaps two days being devoted to the as sembly so enthusiastic were the boys, coaches and everyone who attended head coach R. H. “Ribs” Baysinger’s fine presentation of football in all its phases not to mention the exacting and pains taking care of the entire S y r a cuse staff in demonstrating what ■was presented in lecture fo r m In summing up, Coach Bay singer urged every boy to strive first for the'top scholastically and his football would not only be benefited but he would be much better equipped after his playing days were over and in bettering his scholastic record, he would in turn, be a better, smarter and more capable football player. The forenoon was devoted to discussions by several members of the Syracuse coaching staff and, following a lunch period, the staff, players and boys from teams in the Northern league again got down to work. , The first hour of the afternoon session was devoted to further along with movies o f v a r io u s i d iscu s s io n o f lin e p lay , b a c k f i e l d types of the game in c l u d i n g f u n - ! p r o b l e m s , p a s s d e f e n s e , b lo c k in g damental a n d advanced. an d b a ll h a n d l i n g .
