Mr. Donald McCalman, a former resident of Lakemont, has announced the opening of offices for the practice of Law at Long Beach, California. Frances Low, a graduate of Starkey Seminary, Class of 1913, passed away at her home in Central Square on Sun day, November 20. Miss Nadine Moon returned to Washington Saturday after spending Thanksgiving Day at her home in Lakemont. Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel Chadwick and children spent Thanksgiving in Ithaca. Mrs. Chadwick and the chil dren remaining until Sunday. The family was preparing to move to a place near Second Milo. They have sold their farm here to Lewis Millard and he takes possession December 1. Helen Halstead, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Halstead of Dundee and Edward Boorom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Boorom of Altay were married Thanksgiving Eve. at the Presbyter ian Parsonage in Rochester by the Rev. J. Lawrence. They were at tended by Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hall of 458 Maplewood Ave., Rochester. The bride was attired in a dress of Teall Blue with matching accessories. She wore a corsage of pink pompons and Talisman roses. Mrs. Hall wore a dusty rose dress with black acces sories. Her corsage was of yellow pompons and roses. A wedding supper was served to the bridal party at Laube ’ s Old Spain in Rochester Mr, and Mrs. Boorom will reside in Dundee. PERRY - BROWN By Wayne Correspondent Miss Lillian Brown of Wayne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brown and Ralph Perry of Elmira Heights were united in marriage Wed nesday, November 23 at 6 p. m. at the Baptist Parsonage by the Rev. Clare C. Conrad. The bride was attired in teal blue, with matching hat and ac cessories 'and wore a corsage of yellow hoses. The bride ’ s only attendant was Miss Marjorie Evenden who was attired in wine with matching hat and accessories and wore a corsage of pink roses. Claire Phillips of Kane, Pa., was best man. Following the ceremony a dinner was served the wedding party at the home of the bride ’ s parents. The bride and groom left during the evening for their new home in Elmira. Pre-nuptial events included a varie ty shower given by Miss Marjorie Evenden and a kitchen shower by Mrs. Marcellus Henry. Miss Marjorie M. Sutton of Dun dee, a teacher in the fourth grade of School One in Elmira Heights for the past 14 years, was fatally injured early Tuesday evening when she was struck by an automobile as she was crossing in front of her boarding place. The Conservation Department has sent to county clerks throughout the State approximately 645,000 licenses together with an equal number of buttons. The licenses will be avail able on and after December 1, but Sutton, said he was driving south on Oakwood avenue, and that he was meeting another car going north, the headlights of which so blinded him that he did not see Miss Sutton and knew nothing of her presence until he felt the impact when his car struck her. He took her in his car to the hospital, and then returned to report to the police headquarters. Appar ently no one actually saw the acci dent. Coroner Charles S. Dale of Che mung county termed the death, of Miss Sutton accidental. The street was well lighted, but the pavement was covered with snow and ice so that it would have been impossible for a car to stop quickly. Miss Sutton was born near Dun dee, and always lived and spent her vacations here. She was graduated in 1909 from the Dundee High School, and later from, the Geneseo Normal School, and received her bachelor ’ s degree from the University of Rochester. She had taught school in Bradford and Franklinville before going to El mira Heights 14 years ago. She was a member of the Elmira Heights Bap tist church, and of the Parent-Teach ers Association of the school where she taught She leaves five sisters: Miss Alma Sutton of this village, Mrs. Reeva Hunt of Watkins Glen, Mrs. George B. Crane of Endicott, and the Misses Elizabeth and Susan Sutton of Chica go, and two nieces and three nephews. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 o ’ clock, at the home of Miss Alma Sutton on Harpending avenue in this village. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery. MRS. MYRA PETERSON By ,Rock Stream Correspondent Mrs. Myra Peterson passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Morris Peelle of Rock Stream on Wednesday, November 23. Mrs. Peterson was born January 2, 1874. She was united in marriage Mrs. Eliza J. DeMunn and Miss Ella William Peterson on September 26, Mr. Peterson passed away in Miss Minerva Henderson, Mrs. George Salmon, Mrs. Elizabeth O ’ Brien and Miss Alberta Rider were Thanksgiving guests of Mrs. T. T. Hopper of Dundee. She is survived by six children, Mrs. Morris Peelle and Mrs. Samuel Field of Rock Stream, Mrs. George Thomas and Miss Helen Peterson of New York city, Mrs. John Covell of Central Square and John Peterson of Elmira, six grandchildren, three sis ters, the Misses Clara and Elizabeth Ackerman of Dundee, Mrs. Cora Fitz water of Branchport and one brother, Clarence Ackerman of Branchport. Funeral services were held from the Sargent funeral home in Dundee on Friday afternoon at 2:00 o ’ clock with the Rev. George McCulloch officiating. Burial was in the Tyrone cemetery. Mrs. Peterson was a member of the Weston Presbyterian church. Mrs. • Peterson suffered a stroke over two years ago and had been con fined to her bed and wheel chair since then. She suffered another stroke on Nov. 17, from which she never ral lied. She was an unusually patient and cheerful invalid and was dearly loved by all who knew her. During her long illness, she had been tenderly cared for by all her children, especi ally Mrs. Peelle and Mrs. Field, in whose homes she had resided. Mrs. Peterson will be greatly missed by a host of friends. MELVIN SIMMONS Melvin Simmons died at his home; in Himrod Tuesday, November 22, at the age of 63.' He is survived by his widow, Lillian Simmons; two, stepchildren, Mrs. George Dillson of Avoca and Janies Coleman of Himrod. Funeral services were held at the Corcoran Funeral Home in Penn Yan Friday afternoon. Burial was in Mount Grove Cemetery, Himrod.
