10 Play Gym Will Begin New Season Play gym, a program designed for children 16 months to five years and play gym senior, a program designed for children ages 3 to 5, will begin a new session during the week of Oct. 31 at the Guilderland Community Center. Hour-long play gym classes are scheduled Tuesday at 10:15 a.m., Wednesday at 9 and 10:15 a.m., and Friday at 9 and 10:15 a.m. Play gym senior classes are also an hour long and are held Monday and Thursdays at 10:15 a.m. The play gym program incorpor- ates spontaneous movement ex- ploration, guided discovery of various moves, and planned move- ments to instructions and music. Children are encouraged to inter- act with their parents, other children, and other adults in new and challenging ways. Parental participation is required. Play gym- senior is similar to play gym; however, the activities are more complex and better suited to pre-school children ages 3 ,• to 5. Parental participation is not x expected. Fitness Class \Total Fitness,\ an exercise program, will begin a new session of classes during the week of Oct. 31 at the Guilderland Community Center. Classes meet Monday and Wed- nesday at 5:30 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday at 9 a.m. Babysitting is available during the morning classes. Toning, trimming and limbering are the focus of this exercise program for people of all ages. Exercises set to music are designed to firm and tone all areas of thehody and increase flexibility and endurance. For further information and registration, contact the center at 456-3634. Open House AtSUNYA The Nelson A. Rockefeller Col^ lege of Public Affairs and Policy at the State University of New York at Albany will host its second open house, Thursday, Nov, 3, from 3 to 7 p.m. to showcase its programs and facilities, for prospective students. Rockefeller College, the state's largest public affairs graduate school, offers degrees in criminal justice, political i science, public administration* public affairs and policy, and social welfare. The event will be held at the college's downtown campus location at 135 Western Ave. Demonstrations of the college's special assets such as computer applications and decision-support programs offered will also be a part of the open house, as will information about other public management courses at the uni- versity including policy analysis and regional'planning. Current undergraduate and graduate students at the university and other area colleges, state employees and the others interest- ed in the college are invited. Faculty, students and advisers will be on hand to answer questions and provide general information about Rockefeller College's programs. A wine and cheese reception will be held in Draper Hall.
