an The Aitamont Enterprise — Thursday, September 15, J$83 Top Teens Club Seeks New Members MONIQUEMARIEHILL Wins Pageant Mcnique Marie Hill, 6, of Hopewell Junction (Dutchess Go.), granddaughter of BeulahHofmann of Guilderlandi was named 1883 New York State National MtHe Miss at the pageant held last month at Syracuse. Miss Hill, the daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Colin Hill; 3s also the great-granddaughter of Grace Hof- mann of Troy: She goes un to compete in the nationall-ittie Miss pageant at Lehigh, Pla. r on Oct. 8. In addition to the New York title, Miss Hill won a $500 cash scholarship. She won the right to compete at Syracuse by winning the Metro New York City pageant at Tarrytown, July 23. She re- ceived a $200 dash scholarship with that title. -^.Participants were judged on poise, personality and appearance. Miss Hill is a first grade student at Gayhead Elementary School. J©3? Workshop \Approaching the Job Market\ will be the subject for a workshop 'scheduled for Sept. 20 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. .at the Guilderland Key Bank. The State University of Albany's career service unit and local home economist will lead the program, sponsored by the East- ern District Home Economics Association. For more information call 439-8212. The Top Teen Twlrlers Square Dance-club invite area youngsters ages 12-19 to three new member nights at the Farnsworth Middle School cafetorium. New member nights will take place the next three Monday evenings, Sept. 19 and'26 and Oct. 3 from 7 to 9 p.m. Classes in square dancing will follow through the remainder of the school year, American heritage dances are taught by Connie and Glen Young, Square dances, quadrilles, contra dances, and basic round'dance steps are all a part of this year's program. This past year, club members earned their bus fare to State Fair ScjuareDanceFestival in Syracuse by selling 4-H cookies and DunkhV Donuts, and held three bake sales at two Price Choppers. They entered four contra lines in the State Fair competition for the contra dance division — three of which brought home blue ribbons. All young people from the club were able to dance in the competition this year that signed up. Seven squares that were entered brought back three sets of blue ribbons. Next year the club expects to enter the festival for the 20th consecutive year under the direction of Mr, and Mrs. Young. Officers this year are Lori McGrail, president; Kim Bian- chine, vice president; John Mac- Millan, treasurer; Barbara Wagoner, recording secretary; Valarie VanDyke, corresponding secretary, and Kim Hansom, past president. Firemen Canvass Ftat Hunter Area This Weekend Members of theFortHunterFire Department will conduct their first door-to-door fund drive in two years this Saturday, Sept. 17, Contributions are tax-deductible and will be used to meet fire company expenses which\ by law cannot be paid by fire district tax revenues. Among these expenses are such items as portable individual pagers carried.by firemen, tele- phone stickers for district resi- dents, and sponsorship of a Pine Bush Little League team, accord- ing to Michael Parker of the department 1 s fund drive commit- A $10 per household contribution is suggested. During 1982 the department's 52 active male and female members contributed 1,298 man-hours in responding to 63 emergency calls. In addition they contributed over 1,300 man-hours for training. Catl For Entries In Siuyvesant's Halloween Contest Area families with children in grade S and above are invited to paint storefront windows at Stuy- vesant Plaza as part of their Halloween Happening. Windows will be painted with a. Halloween theme on Friday, Oct. 28 from noon to 5 p.m. and on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. to noon. Judging will take place on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m. with trophies -awarded to the winners. All entries will receive certificates of-, recognition. Folk Instrument Classes Begin Soon Would-be musicians yearning to play bluegrass banjo, old-time fiddle or hammered dulcimer, will find the means to their end at the Old Songs fall session of group instruction. These classes, and more, will be held evenings, beginning Sept. 27, at St. Mark's Community Center, Guilderland Center. Scheduled for.Tuesday nights . are clawhammer banjo, music theory for folk instruments, old- time fiddle, and bluegrass banjo, both beginning and intermediate. Hamilton Union Church Is Setting For Seaburg-Gqnance Wedding Lynn Marie Ganance, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Vincent Ganance of 2216 Western Ave., Guilderland, and Wesley Richard Seaburg, formerly of Prospect Terrace^ Aitamont, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wendall Seaburg of Cedar Grove Road, Feura Bush, were married Saturday, Aug. 6 at Hamilton Union Presbyterian Church. Rev. Thomas L. Duncan, church pastor, officiated. Givenm marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Mrs. Sharon Craft, matron of honor, and Wendy. Morby and Mrs. Daria Wilsey, bridesmaids. Sayra Craft was flower girl, Richard Berschwinger served as best man. Ushers, were Daniel Seaburg, brother of the groom and Vincent Ganance, brother of the bride. Timmy Gaige was ring bearer.
