U'HOA,Dec. 19,18^. ODJOISJS-—The market here is closed for -the season. Nothing was offered Saturday for .the yery good reason, -we suppose, that there i s no «heese hack in this yicinity wliich is unsold. A few last ends ar e still jn Ihe factories, but huyers are holding arty goods -this season. Everything lias gone to New York or across the -waters. The New^ork market is reported as a trifle duller than last week, although quo- tations are fully up t o former rates, and 'lielders are firm in. refusing even those • figures. 16.J-C. was offered for a line of 500 \boxes Herkimer county'dairy, and refused; tke holder asking 16|c. Keceipts for the •week were 32,316 boxes against 22/733 boxes for the corresponding week last year; and exports were 28,728 against 18,890 boxes for the corresponding week i ' last year. There have been no quotations •*'bp cable during the week, and the Liver- pool quotation must therefore remain 72s. 6d. The report by cable, last Monday, that cheese was .declining ha s not been •substantiated and was undoubtedly started in th e interes 1 ; o f shippers. If we judge from our New York report, it does not eeem.to have had th e desired effect. It did not find any weak-kneed holders, whom it could betray into the meshes of the shippers. teniTEB.—The New York market has been decidedly improved by the freezing •weather and the finest brands. Mne flav- ored fall butter is quoted a s brisk at 40 to 45c. 5 fine an d fancy entire dairies and creameries 38 to 40c.; good State dairies 30 to 35c. Our home market shows no. change from las6 \week. LITTLE FALLS, Dec . 19. Tlie delivery of private dairy this morn§ ing is qnite large considering the time of the year.- Th e quality i s generally poor and prices rule low. One lo t of fancy has just closed at 14c.; one or two lots-have Jjrought 13jc, but th e bulk of the dairy has gone a t 8 to 13c. Indications at pre- sent ar e that the few first factories that •will enter th e market this afternoon will find no difficulty in closing out th e sea- son's make at 16c, BuTTBit,—A. few tubs have been brought in this morning and sell at 2B to SSc. for Common and 3 0 to 33Ci for fine. ° gj, AjJJAtfs, Dec, 18,<—T\he butte mat \ ket WO-B dull with but few changes' to note Shipments amounted to 329 tubs, a t 2 5 to 85c. for general grades and 38 to 45c. for fancy and gilt edge. —rVergennes transactions were light a t •'•«Sto87o. , CANADA, Dec. 15;—Nothing doing in cheese. The fact of there being only odds and ends a t the factories has brought business for the season pretty much to a close, THE PEETrassT WOMAN IN NEW YORK. Miss K , -well known m our fashionable society for her distiiigue appearance and beautiful com- plexion, was once a sallow,' rough-skinned girl, chagrined at her red, freckled face. She pitched into Bagan's Magaolia Balm, and 1B now as pretty in complexion as she is charm- ing in manners. This article overcomes freck- les, taa,-sallowne8s, moth-patches, ring-marks etc., and makes one look ten years younger than they are. Magnolia Balm for a transpa- rent complexion, andLyon'sKathairoa to make the hair plentiful, luxuriant, soft and delicate, bave no rivals. This is Rebeoca at the well, Just as our Mayor caught her; If you would see ber cu t a swell, Come when he gives he r water; Those lion's heads around the base; \With tongues a s red as crimson, Cannot compare with those o f Chase, \With bodies arid with limbs on. You see we've got a mighty town, To flee to when its raining; To save the folks from being drowned, It only needed draining. And so by Chase's Grand Bazaar, There runs a'mighty sewer; I think that Chase must have a car, . . And runs his goods right through her. For such fine things you never saw, They come when nonecan know it, Such crowds of people that they draw, Amazes e'en the poet. He's tried to set the whole to rhyme, And yearly he goes through it, Unless he gets ahead of time, I'm sure he'll never do it. ( For when you buy a thing of Chase, It seems Old Nick i s in it, t You'll se e a dozen take its place, You need not wait a minute. For Christmas and for New Years tree, To make glad hearts and faces, In Watertown, you'll never see, A store compared to Chase's. And Chase will keep his new Bazaar, No fear of his absconding ; On his own track he'll rim his car, And do it without bonding. Ho! for Chase's near and far. Trumpet, drum and fiddle; Sound the praise of his Bazaar, Down, outside, up the middle, Yankee Doodle doodle doo, Yankee Doodle dandy; In eack stocking, boot and shoe, Toys, nuts and sugar candy.
